POLITICS OF THE PANDEMIC

Who profits? Who loses? Who dies?

It’s no secret that our society has been enduring years of growing, systemic inequalities which the Pandemic has dramatically exposed and exacerbated. Among those losing are front-line workers without sick leave, and often earning only minimum wage; vulnerable elderly in Long Term Care facilities; poor and racialized communities, the homeless, the poorly housed and the evicted. And most unfairly, in the midst of all this, the rich get even richer?

We need to take a closer look at these issues – we cannot just go ‘back to normal’ – we have to build back better!

Get involved!  Join us on Monday, March 29th from 7:00 – 8:30 pm to explore these issues with our dynamic and expert panel in an online discussion on Zoom:

  • Peter Tabuns, MPP for the Riding of Toronto-Danforth
  • Jim Stanford, Economist and Director of the Centre for Future Work
  • Anjum Sultana, National Director of Public Policy & Strategic Communication at YWCA Canada

Our moderator is Paula Fletcher, City Councillor for Ward 14, Toronto-Danforth.
